An important aspect of REIKI is its practical side for our health and wellbeing, working on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual body.
For many people reiki is something “weird” and often only seen on an esoteric level, though its importance in health care should not be underestimated.
Originally, reiki was directly used to heal/cure physical ailmentes and showed amazing results. This aspect is still in the statues of the Jikiden Reiki Institute, and an important part of its teaching.
The WHO (World Health Organization) has recognized Reiki as an alternative therapeutic modality and the NCCAM (American National Institute of Health Center for complementary and Alternative Medicine) classified Reiki as a biofield modality, affecting energy fields around and in our bodies.
The benefits of Reiki start with its inmediate relaxing effect.
Lying down, the receiver quickly experiences deep relaxation. Reiki harmonizes the emotional, mental and spiritual field. Even very stressed and nervous people report a sudden calmness and deep sensation of inner peace and often fall asleep in the blink of an eye during a reiki session.
Reiki helps to work on fears and worries and thus can help to eliminate all the related unbalances (and illnesses) in the human body. A kind of “detox”. This happens not only on an emotional and mental level, but also on the physical body.
People report augmented perspiration (often with unconfortable odor), a change in their bowel movement, headache, sudden outbreak of pimples in the face etc. after a reiki session. All signs of a bodily cleansing or detox.
Reiki practitioner frequently experience “sudden” and unexpected improvement of physical conditions and sometimes changes for example in size of tumors up to its total elimination, often called as “impossible miracles” by physicans.
Globally there are scientific studies about health benefits through the application of reiki and already many hospitals are using it as a complementary to improve and to accelerate the healing process of their patients, without the side effects other remedies show.
Every day there are more reiki therapists invited to share their experiences on medical conferences and for medical staff, to help raise awarness about this natural remedie and more hospitals encourage their nurses and physicians to attend reiki seminars.
Acceptance to reiki as a therapy is growing and it is expected, that it soon will be a steady part in medical establishments all over the world.
