Listing of teachers who received their Gokai

An emotional moment and very memorable is always, when a reiki practitioner achieves teacher level.

As shihan-kaku (first level teacher) they have the right to purchase their personal Gokai and as shihan (master/teacher) they are obliged to present the 5 life principles (Gokai) in all their seminars and in public events.

A  piece of art, hand made for the teacher and with lots of energy.

I was very happy and grateful, when i received mine in our institute (Kenkyukai) in Kyoto (shihan no. 100 in the world in May 2008). 🌞

Here the listing (May 2016) of the teachers, who received their Gokai:

GOKAI – The 5 Reiki Principles

GOKAI in Kanji

After healing people for weeks, Usui sensei noticed that some of them returned with the same or similar symptoms as before, even that they seemed to be healed after his sessions.

His conclusion was, that healing needed not only done by him, but it was also needed, that the person him/herself worked on it.

Thus he told them to chant the Gokai, 5 reiki life principles; every day three times in the morning and in the evening. These 5 easy to learn and to understand “principles” make us aware of bad habits we tend to follow and which compromise our wellbeing or, in the worse case, our health; reciting them repetivly he “forced” his patients into reflexing about them and thus heal themselves through their mind. Additionally to that he let them reflex about the WAKA of the emperator Meiji.

In Jikiden Reiki we learn to chant them in its original, Japanese version. Sometimes people ask, if it is possible to do it in their native language: Tadao Yamaguchis responds: “The Gokai were prepared by Usui sensei in Japanese. I learned them this way and know, that their healing powers work well, because people are chanting them as a mantra for a long time. I don´t know if that is the case in another language, thus we teach the students in our seminars to use the original version.”

You can sense the wonderful healing energy of the GOKAI even if you are not attuned to Reiki. Chant them out loudly (why not print out the pic above) or simply listen to the recording below. In a short period of time you will feel a difference inside you and in your environment. 🙂

HERE you can listen to them in Japanese (thanks to Dai-Shihan Mari Okazaki).

How is Jikiden Reiki different from Usui Reiki?

“A frequently asked question by Western trained reiki practitioners. My collegue Gisela Stewart from simplyjikidenreiki explains some of the similarities and differences. “

Simply Jikiden Reiki

Mikao Usui SenseiAnd what would an Usui Reiki Master get from taking this class? How often have I been asked this question in person or by email. This time, though, I have been asked in a public way, so I thought I had perhaps best answer in public, too. First of all: Jikiden Reiki is Usui Reiki, as this simple hand-healing method started with Mikao Usui in Japan in 1922. ‘Jikiden’ means directly transmitted, and in the Japanese language and culture, is a term that refers to a traditional art form,  passed on carefully from teacher to student without changes.

Chiyoko and Tadao YamaguchiChiyoko Yamaguchi, who had learned Reiki from one of the teachers trained by Usui Sensei, Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, and her son Tadao decided to pass on what they had learned from Dr. Hayashi after they had met with many Western Reiki practitioners and realised how much the practice had changed, with so many…
